Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, which is also know as the Blue Mansion is a building that was built over over a period of seven year between 1897 and 1904. It means that it is a hundred-year-old building.


As the name, Cheong Fatt Tze is the owner of this mansion. He is also known locally as Teow Thiaw Siat, a Chinese of Hakka descent, who was one of the richest man in Southeast Asia, whose property stretched from Java to Sumatra, to Penang, Singapore, Hong Kong and China. But of all these properties, this mansion was his favourite residence. All eight of his sons were raised here and received a Western education at the St Xavier's Institution nearby. The house was also the home for his wives No. 3, 6 and 7. 

Why it is known as Blue Mansion, i think it is due to the mansion's indigo-blue outer wall which makes it a very distinct building in the area.

there is only certain time it is open for tourism, once you passed the time, you are not allow to get in the mansion. So be careful of the timing you go.

Guided tours at 11am and 3pm daily.

we reached there over the guided time around 20minutes. luckily the guard allow us to go in but we had missed some information about the mansion since the tours had begun 20minutes already. If you are curious to the building, be punctual!

the most impressive information i got on that day is the 'feng shui' of the house. Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese system which is used to improve the quality of life. feng is wind and shui is water. Chinese believe it can bring us the wealthy. The design of the mansion is based on the Feng Shui system. The guide will explain to you about the feng shui and how it works. Usually the explanation is in English but there is exception that if you are in a group of Chinese. form your own tour is suggested.

the building are kept nicely. clean and new. Blue Mansion is also having a Home Stay program.

but i really hope i can stay at there for a night to take some photos and enjoy the special environment...
oh ya, you are not allow to take any photos unless you stay there for a night. if I do not get wrong, dinner are provided.

i missed the tour time at 1st time. i can only take photo at outside....T.T

Baba and Nyonya museum in Penang ( Penang Peranakan Mansion)

i have a trip to Penang with Seong Yee

this is one of the places we went

BABA NYONYA MUSEUM

the day i went to here is a rainy day...

we did not have an umbrella

and we were planning to run to the main door...

luckily, the services here are so nice,

they took us an umbrella~^_^

since it is raining, we did not take the photo of the whole building from outside...

so i grab it online

the 1st attraction once i get down from the car is the telephone box~

cant found it in IPOH

The Peranakans, also known as the Babas and Nyonyas,was a prominent community of acculturated Chinese unique to this part of the world, especially in the Straits Settlements (Penang, Malacca and Singapore) hence its other name, the Straits Chinese. Adopting selected ways of the local Malays and later, the colonial British, the Peranakans had created a unique lifestyle and customs which had not only left behind a rich legacy of antiques but its cultural influences like cuisine and language are still evident in Penang today....more background information for the museum.

the feeling of the houses it gave me a feel of peace, and comfortable feeling

no air-conditional, but you can feel the breeze coming to you

listen to the sound of silence, the only sound of the fans..

it reminds me when I'm young, lying on the sofa, just listen to the fan turning and turning

i heard Seong Yee said

in the culture of Peranakan, 

female are not allow to 'expose' themselves to the outsiders

they are not allow to go outside the house

even in the house, if there is guest, they cannot come out

if they wanna pass by, the have to be wrap in a blanket and the maids will take her over..

it is...really sucks! i cannot stand for this!

anyways, we have to respect their culture...

how pity if I'm born in the Peranakan family....

actually this house of Peranakan has been 'modified'.

it is not showing the fully original culture of them

because i saw the new technology items in the house!

but those facilities just to make you feel better in the house

such as, the cooling fans...

it mixed others special culture stuff too...

but im still enjoying~~

it seem like they have touch with the culture of the western

i like the design of the house

there is a big HOLE on the ceiling...XD

the sunlight is warm and cheerfully

maybe because it is a rainy day, that's why the sunlight is not hot

i hope that i can stay there for few nights

sitting there at night to look at the star in the sky...

in the morning to have a sun bathe...

you can take how many photos as you like here

but if you go to the Blue Mansion which is also located in Penang.

you are not allowed to take any photo unless you stay there for a night which cost you over 

350 Ringgit!

but of course, since Blue Mansion are so protected, the building are kept so new and nice

but this Peranakan house are not, the guard is not providing the information systematically

we hard to gain the information about the house from the people.

Segenting, Batu pahat

2nd year 1st semester, my lovely sisters decided to go to the Lover Bridge.
we drove for almost an hour only reach there from Parit Raja.



that day was a hot and sunny day.


we are on the way~~that time the day is still cloudy

there is a rumor which i heard from my little princess, Janet.
the rumor is about the Lover Bridge
she said,
when there are 1 woman and man who are not in relationship walking through the bridge, they will fall in love to each other.
however, if a pair of couple walk over it, they will break up.

i think:
what the hell is this "LOVER" bridge?
now i recall back about the movie of ' love u by breaking up'

ok, back to the point.
the Lover Bridge located in Segenting Batu Pahat.
Segenting is a fishing village.

actually there is a fish-touching culture in this village.
many of the tourist come here no matter how long especially for the gambler
because there is also a rumor said that if you touch the head of the fish then you can get the 1st prize!




these women seem like the starving wolves saw a meat...
pushing here and there for the aim to touch the fish!
and keep calling the fish very softly : long yu long yu~ guaiguai guo lao~(this is in mandarine: dragon fish dragon fish~ come over here~)
the point i want to say is:
THEY PUSH ME AWAY!!!!!

at 1st we tot this is the fish they mentioned....(it is not!it is the son of that 1st-prize-giving fish!)

after touching that stupid fish (though i din reach its head and let those women push away)
we went to the Lover Bridge

Lover Bridge actually is a jetty.

enjoying the wind~

i love standing on the jetty and the wind blowing on me
seem like i'm standing in the middle of the sea
relax...and peace...



but it is quite horrible to be standing on the jetty too...
since there is not cover for u and feel like going to drop into the sea anytime when the wind getting strong.


this is the gap, i walk very carefully although it is not big...but still feeling nervous..( i don't know swimming!!!)

Kelly Castle

Date: year 2009

I went to this castle with Seong Yee. This is the Kelly Castle located at Batu Gajah, Perak. The castle is incomplete and was built by British who has never lived in it.

this is a lovely and beautiful castle. as i know, it has been built 14 years ago...




the owner built his 1st  building- Kellas House in year 1905. four years later, he further expanse her building in to Kellie Castle.

however, the castle cannot be finished at the end until the owner has passed away. I heard that there die a lot of people during the construction caused by flu and the war. Hence, there is some rumor said some 'creatures' will appear in the castle.... people said is the soul of the owner since his dream is not yet come true...


seem like a little bit horrible, right?

although it sounds horrible but i never saw any special thing there. I went there for 3 TIMES! (not purposely went there looking for the owner but as a guide for my outstation friends.)

the operation time here is 

Monday - Sunday 9:00am - 6:00pm

 the fees:

adult: RM3.00

children: RM1.00
